Granular Certificates (GCs) are timestamped energy attributes (often hourly) that record the time, location (node/zone), and source of generation for each MWh. GCs enable verified 24/7 CFE claims by replacing coarse annual REC accounting with hour-by-hour matching and preventing double counting via registry issuance, transfer, and retirement. Implementations are guided by the EnergyTag standard and integrated by registries and market platforms.
