Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) is a program that allows cities or local governments to aggregate (combine) the electricity demand of residents and businesses in their jurisdiction to procure power on their behalf. Through CCA, communities can choose to purchase a higher proportion of renewable energy or secure better electricity rates. The utility still delivers the power and maintains the grid, but the CCA determines the energy supply mix, often focusing on cleaner, locally-sourced renewable energy.
